Bilfen · FIRST Robotics Competition · Rookie season 2027
We are here. We are ready. Watch us.
27 students and 4 mentors are building Bilfen's first FRC robot from scratch. In spring 2027 it rolls onto a regional field next to teams from around the world. Every bolt, line of code and sponsor logo on it will be ours.
Countdown to FRC 2027 Kickoff · Sat 9 Jan 2027 (expected)
Team 12078 on our bumpers. Blue or red, depending on the alliance.
What is FRC?
A sport for the mind.
Real engineering
Teams get the game rules at Kickoff and have a few weeks to design, build and program a full-size robot.
Alliances, not only rivals
Matches are played by alliances of three teams. Today's opponent is tomorrow's partner.
A global stage
Thousands of teams in dozens of countries play the same game in the same season. From 2027, Bilfen is one of them.
The spec sheet
Small team. Big machine.
Road to the regional
From zero to the field.
- Oct 2026
Team formed
Seven crews set up, lab planned, first meetings held.
- Nov – Dec 2026
Pre-season
CAD, wiring and code training. Practice builds. First sponsors.
- 9 Jan 2027
Kickoff
FIRST reveals the 2027 game. We see the challenge the same day as every team on Earth.
- Jan – Mar 2027
Build season
Strategy, prototype, design, build, test, repeat. Then pack the robot.
- Mar – Apr 2027
Regional
Our first official FRC event. Matches, alliances, awards, and a lot of noise.
Robot 001
Classified.
We don't know what it will do yet. Nobody does. The game is revealed on Kickoff day, and then the cover comes off.
Seven crews, one robot
Find your crew.
Nobody watches from the stands here. Every crew owns a real part of the robot and the team behind it.
How we play
Win the right way.
Gracious Professionalism®
Compete hard, respect everyone, and help the team across the pit when their robot breaks.
Coopertition®
Cooperation and competition at the same time. We share parts, tools and what we learn.
Built by students
Mentors guide. Students decide, design and build. The robot is yours.
Founding member
Claim your pit pass.
The first members of a team only exist once. Make your pass, screenshot it, and wear it with pride.
Your name stays on this device only. Nothing is sent or saved anywhere else.
Questions
Asked in the hallway.
Do I need experience?
No. Pre-season training starts from zero, and every crew teaches its own skills.
How much time does it take?
More during build season, from January to March, and less the rest of the year. Each crew sets its schedule with its mentor.
Is the lab safe?
Yes. The team has a safety captain, protective gear is required in the lab, and machines are used only after training.
Can I help more than one crew?
Yes. Many members help several crews, especially during build season.
Can families help?
Yes. Families can help with sponsor contacts, travel and event days.

Sponsor the robot
A rookie robot needs parts, tools, travel and the event registration. Sponsors get their logo on the robot, the team shirts and the pit, in front of every alliance we play with.
- Logo on robot, shirts and pit banner
- Visit the lab and meet the crews
- Build-season updates on our channels
